The Mandriva Security Team is seeking a new member for dealing with security vulnerabilities within the Mandriva products portfolio. You will be part of a small team responsible for triage, investigation, and tracking of security vulnerabilities reported to Mandriva on the Mandriva products. You will work in Paris, France.
Specific Duties / Primary Responsibilities
- Rapidly respond to new security issues – you will need to be able to think fast, analyze complex problems, use your judgment to assess vulnerability severities and risk, and switch your priorities to ensure that serious issues get immediate attention.
- Investigate how security flaws specifically impact the Mandriva products
- Research how the flaws can be exploited by attackers, by code analysis, testing exploits, or writing proof of concept tests
- Discuss flaws with Mandriva software developers, managers, quality engineers, upstream project developers, as well as Mandriva peers in the security response teams of other vendors
- Develop advice and technical documentation for security advisories
- Be responsible for tracking vulnerabilities through the entire update release lifecycle and ensuring that customers get the right fixes with the right advice at the right time
Job Requirements, Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in C and C++
- Proficient in software development processes and understanding of software development life-cycle
- Proficient with Linux distribution package management and updates. RPM package management knowledge is a plus.
- Solid Linux operating system knowledge and skills
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Fluent in English and French both written and spoken.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technology-related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be also considered.
