Rackspace Launch a Certification to OpenStack Training
Rackspace, which helped give the OpenStack cloud computing platform its early momentum and supports an OpenStack-based private cloud platform, has announced a training and certification program for the platform. This could make a big difference for the many IT professionals who are being asked to reach into their hats and suddenly pull out OpenStack skills. Here’s how you can find out more.
Tony Campbell, who is Director of OpenStack Training and Certification at RackSpace, has put together a short, 11-minute podcast explaining the new program. You can listen to it here, and find out more about the training program here.
The program will get going in December and does lead to a certification, which, considering that it comes from Rackspace, might have some clout in a job market where OpenStack skills are increasingly valuable. Rackspace has been doing OpenStack training, but will now offer the formal certification.
According to Rackspace:
“Rackspace training immerses students in the OpenStack environment so they can evaluate it for their use cases as well as improve performance of an existing installation. Students should walk away from the training course with the experience and knowledge to install, run, and operate OpenStack clouds.”
