And today, March 31, 2016, Dell is happy to announce that the XPS 13 Developer Edition laptop, which also ships with the Ubuntu Linux operating system pre-installed, is available in countries around Europe too, including United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition laptop, which was made possible as a part of Project Sputnik that identified the developer’s needs, comes preloaded with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr), which will be upgradable to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) later next month or sometime in May 2016.

With the community’s input, Project Sputnik became an official product and continued to evolve,” said Barton George, Sr Principal Engineer, Office of the CTO, Dell.
