The Manjaro Development Team today announced the general availability of the eighteenth update pack for the current stable release of the Manjaro Linux operating system.

A lof of goodies are present in this new update for Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) announced on May 8, 2016, starting with support for the Linux 4.6 kernel, which looks to be announced next week, on May 15, 2016, the recently released LibreOffice 5.0.6 “Still” long-term supported office suite, and the brand-new Cinnamon 3.0 desktop environment.

“We are happy to announce our eighteenth update of Manjaro 15.12 (Capella),” reads the announcement. “It is always good to check for updated packages, even we don’t notify you about them. As usual people using our testing branch will help us to get snaps over to our branch almost smoothly. […] Please give us feedback and report any findings with this update.”

New Steam for Linux client and Lumina Desktop 0.9.0 have also landed

Besides the updated GNU/Linux technologies mentioned above, Manjaro Linux 15.12’s eighteenth update pack promises to offer users the new Lumina Desktop 0.9.0 desktop environment from the PC-BSD project, the latest Steam for Linux client, the recently released Calamares 2.2.2 graphical installer, as well as updated Pamac graphical package manager, OpenSSL library, and OpenRC stack.

With this new update, Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) now supports the Linux 3.10.101 LTS, Linux 3.12.59 LTS, Linux 3.13.11.39 [EOL], Linux 3.14.68 LTS, Linux 3.16.35 LTS, Linux 3.18.32 LTS, Linux 3.19.8.20, Linux 4.1.23 LTS, Linux 4.2.8.9, Linux 4.4.9 LTS, and Linux 4.5.3 kernels. Of course, the Manjaro Linux 15.12 repositories have been synchronized with upstream, bringing the latest updates from Arch Linux.

Therefore, if you’re using the Manjaro Linux 15.12 operating system, you are urged to update it as soon as possible to receive all the goodies mentioned in this article, and, of course, to keep things as up to date as possible.
