Download Source Code jQuery Bonsai 2.1.0

Simon Wade is announcing that jQuery Bonsai with version number 2.1.0 is already available to download.

What is jQuery Bonsai ?

jQuery Bonsai is A jQuery tree plugin, taking huge nested HTML lists and arranging them into a collapsible tree structure that can be easily navigated .

jQuery Bonsai adds collapse/expand controls to a list, allowing users to expand and view the lower levels of a nested list’s structure. This can be very useful in situations where large lists need to be shown, allowing developers to load the list collapsed at page load and not take up too much space on the page.jQuery Bonsai also supports a “select mode”, in which radio buttons or checkboxes can be appended to list items and allow users to select one or multiple items when submitting the form. The list’s data can be loaded from within the DOM, or it can be fetched from a local or remote JSON file.A quick demo is included with the jQuery Bonsai download package.

This is changelog for jQuery Bonsai version 2.1.0 :

  • List items are now identified by an attribute, defined by the idAttribute option. By default the id attribute is used.
  • Checkbox ids are now sequential – if you want to address a checkbox use a selector that targets “.the-list-item > input”.
  • Remove the need for guid, generatedIdPrefix, specifiedIdPrefix and adding generated ids to list items.
  • The serialization format has changed to {expanded: [id…], collapsed: [id…], version: 2}. The previous format returned by serialize() is also supported.
