What is Pelican ?
Pelican is A Python script that combines features found in blogs and in static site generators to provide webmasters with an easy to use blogging platform .
Pelican is a good tool to generate your blogs with if you hate working with relative or NoSQL databases.Pelican will store all its content inside local text files, and use markup languages like Markdown, AsciiDoc, or reStructuredText to format the pages’ content. The system is tightly integrated with the Python CLI and other Python specific tools, like template engines, PDF generation, built-in server functionality and so on.Additionally, Pelican can rebuild itself when new content is published, and it can even import content from other sources like WordPress, Dotclear, or RSS feeds. All in all, while Pelican won’t replace WordPress pretty soon, it’s a good alternative for people that scarcely blog and don’t like bulky dashboard panels.
