Linux News Today: 4MParted 16.0 Distrolette Ships with GParted 0.25.0, Now Ready for Beta Testing
Zbigniew Konojacki, the developer of the 4MLinux project, has sent us an email earlier today, February 14, 2016, informing Softpedia about the availability for download and testing of his 4MParted 16.0 Beta Live CD.
According to the developer, the Beta build of the upcoming 4MParted 16.0 distrolette has been based on his recently released 4MLinux 16.0 Beta operating system, the Core edition, which anyone can use to make their own 4MLinux-based Live CDs. 4MParted is a small Live CD that you can use to partition disks.
However, the main highlight of the 4MParted 16.0 Beta release is that it has been built around the latest GParted 0.25.0 partition editor software, which users can use to partition, merge, format, and split disk drives on the go, no matter the computer operating system used.
“This version includes GParted 0.25.0 and it uses 4MLinux 16.0 as the base system,” said Zbigniew Konojacki in the email received by Softpedia HQ. “4MParted is a part of my 4MRescueKit project, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for download.”
Therefore, if you want to participate in the public testing of the upcoming 4MParted 16.0 Beta Live CD, you can download the ISO image right now from our website, just please try to keep in mind that it’s a pre-release version, and some of the features might not work as expected.
