Linux News Today: BakAndImgCD 16.0 Data Backup and Disk Cloning Live CD Is Available for Download

4MLinux founder Zbigniew Konojacki today informs Softpedia about the immediate availability for download of his BakAndImgCD 16.0 Live CD, a fork of the 4MLinux operating system used for data backup and disk imaging operations.

Based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 16.0, the BakAndImgCD 16.0 Live CD has been designed to help system administrators and regular users perform data backup operations on their machines, no matter the operating system installed.

At the moment, BakAndImgCD 16.0 comes with support for a wide range of filesystems, among which we can mention Btrfs, EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, Reiser4, ReiserFS, XFS, JFS, NILFS2, FAT32, FAT16, NTFS, HFS, HFS+, and F2FS.

Additionally, the distrolette includes a bunch of disk imaging/cloning tools, such as GNU ddrescue, which you can see in action on Mr. Konojacki tweet below, as well as Partclone and Partimage.

BakAndImgCD 16.0 is a very good, easy-to-use and tiny Live CD (the ISO image has only 30MB in size), that you can carry with you on your pocket on a USB key, and use it for all sorts of disk cloning and system backup tasks.

If you want to try it out today, you can download the freely distributed BakAndImgCD 16.0 Live ISO image right now from Softpedia. The Live CD will work on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
