Linux News Today: Logic Supply Unveils New Rugged Industrial Panel PC That Runs Ubuntu or Windows
Logic Supply, the leading industrial and embedded computer hardware manufacturer, has informed Softpedia today about the availability of a new rugged panel PC that can run Ubuntu Linux or Windows operating systems.
The 15″ UPC-V315-QM77 rugged industrial panel PC is water- or dust-resistant, fanless, ventless, features an all-metal chassis, programmable physical buttons, as well as a front-facing camera. It has been fully IP65 (protection against solid objects) rated to resist ingress from damaging fluids.
UPC-V315-QM77 has been designed and engineered by Taiwanese hardware specialists IEI to be used in challenging environments, mainly thanks to its water-resistant touchscreen. It is ideal for various HMI (human machine interface) applications, such as kiosk, industrial automation, inventory management, or access control.
“It’s rare to find this combination of quality, performance, and ruggedness in a Panel PC,” said JP Ishaq, Head of Product Management at Logic Supply. “Many of today’s HMI systems either focus on aesthetics over toughness, or place more importance on ruggedness and reliability than performance and feature set.”
