4MLinux developer Zbigniew Konojacki informs us about the immediate availability for download and testing of the first Beta build of the upcoming 4MRecover 16.0 Live CD.
According to Mr. Konojacki, 4MRecover 16.0 Beta is now based on the Beta build of his 4MLinux 16.0 operating system, the Core edition, of course, and it includes the latest TestDisk 7.0 and PhotoRec 7.0 tools. 4MRecover is distributed as part of the developer’s 4MRescueKit project.
“4MRecover is a small live CD designed for data recovery. It’s a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for download,” said Zbigniew Konojacki. “This version includes TestDisk 7.0 and it uses 4MLinux 16.0 as the base system.”
With the 4MRecover 16.0 Live CD, users will be able to quickly access the PhotoRec utility so that they can recover photos from damaged disks, as well as the TestDisk tool for recovering lost partitions and undelete files. The powerful MC (Midnight Commander) file explorer is also installed by default.
Early adopters can download the 4MRecover 16.0 Beta ISO image right now from our website, write it on a USB stick and try it on their personal computers. However, please try to keep in mind that a Beta build is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
