Zbigniew Konojacki, the lead developer and maintainer of the independent 4MLinux GNU/Linux distribution, was happy to inform us earlier about the release and immediate availability for download of Antivirus Live CD 15.0-0.98.7.
Before anything else, we would like to inform those of you who don’t know what Antivirus Live CD is, that the 4MLinux-based project has been built around the popular and open-source Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) antivirus software and designed from the ground up to be used as an independent solution for cleaning PCs for viruses.
The latest release, Antivirus Live CD 15.0-0.98.7, is derived from the development version of the 4MLinux 15.0 operating system, yet still based on ClamAV (Clam AntiVirus) 0.98.7. As usual, the project is distributed for free as two Live ISO images, one that contains the entire ClamAV virus signature database, and another one that doesn’t.
“Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It’s designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses,” said Zbigniew Konojacki. “The latest version 15.0-0.98.7 is based on 4MLinux 15.0 and ClamAV 0.98.7.”
If you want a quick, text-based, fast, and lightweight solution for cleaning your GNU/Linux or Microsoft Windows computers from viruses and other malware, download Antivirus Live CD 15.0-0.98.7 right now from Softpedia. If you have a good Internet connection and you want an out-of-the-box experience, we recommend grabbing the larger version.
