What is Turret ?
Turret is A responsive frontend UI framework coded in LESS, created to help and simplify the act of launching a basic website and/or Web application .
Turret comes in its original LESS version, but a pre-compiled CSS version is also available if you plan to use its original codebase without any modifications.The framework is quite lightweight compared to similar, more bulky and expansive frameworks, but includes just the minimum amount of code to provide both lots of functionality and minimum impact on browser rendering times.Turret is actually made up of a bunch of smaller parts, each separated in its own file, being easy to ignore and remove from projects where they’re not needed.These included basic visual styles for a bunch of common UI components (tables, buttons, form elements), but also more complex tools like a grid system, typography rendering presets, ARIA accessibility, color manipulation utilities, media query handlers, and various other more smaller mixins and utility classes.These latter tools address issues like positioning, floats, displays, mouse cursors, etc., all basic modifications that sometimes just need to be made.Also, another major difference from other UI frameworks is that Turret doesn’t use any kind of JavaScript, being an actual “CSS framework” like in the old days when CSS frameworks where actually CSS frameworks.
