After being delayed a few weeks, the final release of the open-source Mesa 3D Graphics Library 11.2 arrived earlier today, April 4, 2016, for all GNU/Linux operating systems.
Collabora's Emil Velikov was the one to give us the big news, and it looks like the changes are huge, including EGL, GLSL, GL, WGL, and OSMesa improvements, updates to the Intel i965, Nouveau, Radeon, SVGA, LLVM, and Virgl drivers, as well as enhancements to the OMX and VAAPI video backends.
Release highlights of Mesa 11.2 include support for virtio 1.0 PCI IDs to the Virgl 3D GPU driver, ETC support for Stoney and some Big Endian fixes for the supported Radeon drivers, support for the new nouveau UAPI and initial support for GM20x GPUs to the Nouveau video driver, and the addition of more KBL PCI IDs to the Intel i965 driver.
Furthermore, MPEG4 has been disabled by default for the VAPPI video backend, which now features BOB/motion adaptive deinterlacing, support for the WGL_ARB_render_texture extension was added to WGL, the size of the libGL.so binary was reduced by up to 15 percent, and GLSL received a massive amount of bug fixes.
