In the last minutes of November 26, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak sent in his daily report to inform us all about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in preparation for the OTA-9 update.
According to Mr. Zemczak, most of the Ubuntu Touch developers took a break to celebrate the famous Thanksgiving US holiday, so there aren't so many improvements and new features added for OTA-9.
Therefore, Mr. Zemczak's report notes that the only changes added on November 26 are improvements to the tab switching animations for the Web Browser app, a new Gallery app, and support for local album cover images in the Media Scanner 2 app.
"Today most of the US were away celebrating Thanksgiving so there was not as many landings as usual," said Łukasz Zemczak. "We should have more fixes coming in later. QA also continues looking into the state of our devel-proposed images."
Starting next week, the Ubuntu Touch developers will have a few a full month to add more awesome new features to the mobile operating system, as well as to fix more of those annoying bugs reported by users.
Also next week, they will try to promote a new devel image, despite the fact that many things have not been repaired. However, regular users should stay away from the devel and devel-proposed channels of Ubuntu Touch.
On this occasion, we would like to remind you, guys, that the String and Feature Freeze for Ubuntu Touch OTA-9 is on January 5, and the Final Freeze on January 8, 2016. OTA-9 is scheduled for release on January 20, 2016.
