Apache Software Foundation is announcing that Jetspeed with version number 2.3.0 is already available to download.
What is Jetspeed ?
Jetspeed is An Apache Foundation project that helps developers build portal systems in Java, XML, and compliant with the Java Portlet 2.0 Standard .
In more technical terms, Jetspeed is an Open Portal Platform and Enterprise Information Portal.This allows developers to build small independent portlets inside the Jetspeed core, exchanging information with the "mother ship" and letting developers modularize their applications.Information can be aggregated from multiple portlets and help developers create customizable, secure, and above all multi-leveled data portals.Multi-database support is included with Jetspeed, currently the database working with Derby, HSQLDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgresSQL, DB2, Sybase, and MSSQL.There's also support for various application servers, like Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Websphere, Geronimo, JBoss, and Weblogic.
