Dustin Falgout from the Antergos GNU/Linux distribution, previously known as Cinnarch, has had the great pleasure of announcing the immediate availability for download of an updated ISO installation media.
The Antergos installation images have been rebased on the upstream software repositories of the Arch Linux operating system, and they now include the latest GNOME 3.18.1 desktop environment that was released a few days ago, along with all the security patches and software updates provided in the last weeks.
The GNOME desktop environment was previously updated for all users of the Antergos GNU/Linux distribution from version 3.16 to version 3.18, as we are dealing with a rolling-release operating system where users don’t need to download a new ISO image to keep their system up to date.
However, the ISO images of Antergos have not been refreshed since the release of the GNOME 3.18 packages on the upstream Arch Linux repositories. Therefore, users who want to deploy Antergos on a new computer or reinstall the OS can download the new Antergos 2015.10.18 ISO images and get a fully functional GNOME 3.18 desktop environment.
The graphical installer has been updated
Of course, those of you who want to take the GNOME 3.18 desktop environment for a test drive can do so by using the Live ISO images of Antergos Linux. In addition to the GNOME 3.18 desktop environment, the developer managed to update their in-house built graphical installer utility to version 0.12.24, a release that fixes various issues reported by users since the previous build of the software.
Download Antergos 2015.10.18 Live CD ISO images right now from Softpedia for either 64-bit (x86_64) or 32-bit (i686) hardware architectures.
