Well, it didn't take long for the Fedora developers to change the official release schedule for the upcoming Fedora 24 Linux operating system and delay it for two weeks.

The initial release schedule of Fedora 24 suggested that the upcoming OS would see the light of day on May 17, 2016, but now it has been postponed for the last day of May, most probably due to some issues that will take a little bit longer to be resolved.

The Alpha and Beta builds have been delayed as well, and the updated release schedule suggests that the Fedora 24 Alpha will land on March 15 instead of March 1, followed by the Fedora 24 Beta release on April 26, not April 12 as the initial schedule suggested.

However, this should not come as a surprise to any Fedora or GNU/Linux user out there, as the Fedora Linux operating system is well known for getting several delays before a final release gets out.

So, as the development process advances, expect to see more delays for the Fedora 24 release in the coming months. Most likely, Fedora 24 Linux will be released sometime in June 2016.

All the other events in the Fedora 24 release schedule have been modified. For example, the proposal submission deadline for systemwide changes is now set for January 26, Fedora 25 enters Rawhide on February 16, and Alpha Freeze is on March 1, 2016.

Furthermore, the software translation deadline was delayed until March 29, Fedora 24 Beta Freeze will happen on April 12, and the Final Freeze is set for May 17, 2016. Again, all these dates might change in the coming months.
