David Winterbottom is announcing that Oscar with version number 1.1 is already available to download.
What is Oscar ?
Oscar is An e-commerce toolkit for building online stores on top of the Python Django MVC framework, complete with a fully-functional store backend .
Oscar is a powerful tool that is already being used in production for building every kind of store, from simple mom & pop shops to large scale B2C and B2B e-commerce platforms.Because the entire toolkit was built on the highly popular Django framework, anything inside the store can be customized and extended to fit any of the current store’s requirements and desired features.Instead of providing a ready-made store Oscar provides a collection of utilities and modules which can be used to build the store you need without packaging features that won’t really get used.Oscar is more of an e-commerce framework rather than a fully-functional online store platform, being able to adapt to whatever developers need to use it for.Lots of payment gateways are supported out of the box and new ones can be added via Oscar’s extensions system.
This is changelog for Oscar version 1.1 :
- Bug fixes:
- oscar.apps.partner.models import * could lead to the wrong models being imported.
- Dashboard order table headers shifted
- An issue where Oscar wrongly used Django’s is_safe_url.
