Opera Software, through Aneta Reluga, proudly announced on February 9, 2016, the promotion of the cross-platform Opera 36 web browser to the Beta channel for all supported operating systems.
After being in heavy development for the last couple of months, and since the Opera 35 web browser has just been promoted to the stable channel, the time has come to get a closer look at the upcoming features that will be implemented in the Opera 36 release.
“I am happy to announce that Opera 36 has reached the beta status. Quite a number of changes here, known already to our developer users, and some even inspired by their feedback, including a serious redesign of the start-page and Windows 10 improvements,” said Aneta Reluga, Desktop QA Team at Opera Software.
What’s coming to Opera 36 this year
Now that the Opera 36 Build 2130.2 is available for Beta testing, more users will be able to jump in and take it for a test drive, and who knows, maybe even keep it as a permanent web browsing solution, like some of us did with the Firefox 45.0 web browser, which finally brings the GTK+ integration on Linux systems.
Based on Chromium 49.0.2623.23, the Opera 36 Build 2130.2 Beta release adds all the features that we’ve already talked about in our previous stories during the development cycle of the upcoming web browser, such as a new layout of the start page, as well as Opera UI improvements for touch screens and the Windows 10 OS.
Moreover, the extension expander lets you access all of you installed add-ons at a glimpse, it is a lot easier to visually select a theme, and the built-in synchronization feature received some important performance improvements.
