Posted on October 08, 2015 by Syauqi Wiryahasana

Clonezilla Live, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast, which allows users to do a lot of maintenance and recovery work, is now at version 2.4.2-59 and is available for download and testing.

The Clonezilla Live distribution has been getting a lot of attention in the past few weeks, and quite a few packages have been updated. As usual, the base of the distro has been upgraded once more, and the developers have added all the fixes from Debian.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Oct/06)," is noted in the official announcement. According to the changelog, the drbl package has been updated to 2.17.4-drbl1, clonezilla has been updated to 3.18.5-drbl1, and the updated for EFI NVRAM is now active only when restoring disk.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-59 right now from Softpedia, and you can run it as a Live CD with no problems, but please keep in mind that this is not stable and it should not be used on production machines.

Please take into account that Clonezilla Live is a powerful distribution and it can create problems if you've never used it before. Users can expect to see the stable version arrive soon.
