jQuery.filer is . jQuery.filer transforms the bland file upload field into a UX heaven by adding some much needed improvements. The first noticeable one is the ability for developers to style and customize the field's UI, attaching custom skins and improving its overall look. Second it can let users select more than one file at a time, showing a small counter right inside the field itself. Drag&drop file selection is also supported, along with the ability to start the upload process when submitting the form, or as soon as the user has selected the files. jQuery.filer also comes with support for showing preview thumbnails when selecting images, and small icons (based on the file's type) when selecting non-standard files. Simple validation rules are also supported, checking to see if a file is above a certain size, it does not match a certain file extension, or the user has selected just too many files (numbers wise). jQuery.filer comes with a few basic examples to show developers how it can be implemented, and also provides a basic PHP server-side handler for all uploaded files.
