Opera, through Aneta Reluga, has had the pleasure of announcing the promotion of the Opera 34 web browser to the Beta channel for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

Based on the open source and cross-platform Chromium 47.0.2526.35 web browser, Opera 34 Beta (Build 2036.3) adds a great number of improvements and new features, some of which have been revealed to us by the Opera folks during the development cycle of the 34 series.

Among the most significant changes, we can mention the implementation of the Opera Turbo 2 model for compressing data while browsing the Internet, which promises to load websites even faster than using the first iteration of Opera Turbo on slower connections, and a Share button on the Mac OS X version of the software.

"After an extended period of testing and verification, we have switched to the Turbo 2 model," said Aneta Reluga, Desktop QA Team at Opera. "This one, apart from being compliant across all devices, is particularly usable when your available Internet connection is stable but slow."

MSE/MP3 audio support, download manager drop-down improvements

In addition to the implementation of the Share button on Mac and Opera Turbo 2, the first Beta build of the Opera 34 web browser introduces improvements to the download manager drop-down, which now lets users cancel downloads, and adds support for MSE/MP3 audio, allowing users to listen to their favorite tracks on various music streaming services, such as Google Play Music.
