The GNOME developers are working around the clock these days to release the second and last maintenance build for the stable GNOME 3.18 desktop environment. Therefore, there were many updates to GNOME’s core components and apps in the last few days.
GNOME Shell 3.18.2 has just been released earlier today, November 12, and it adds some minor improvements and various bugfixes. According to the internal changelog attached at the end of the article, several full-screen animation glitches have been fixed, and the robustness of the browser plugin was improved.
Furthermore, the issue reported by users about the window menu being closed to quickly in the top orientation has been addressed, text-scaling-factor is now respected when using GNOME under Wayland, an authentication glitch with the login screen has been fixed, and the overview mode will no longer be toggled during animation.
Lastly, the Norwegian Bokmal, Argentinian, Islandic, Hungarian, Romania, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese language translations have been updated. All GNOME 3.18 users are urged to update to GNOME Shell 3.18.2 as soon as the package becomes available in the default software repositories of their GNU/Linux distributions.
