Sejumlah isu seputar PlayStation 4 memang santer beberapa bulan terakhir ini. Salah satu yang terbaru seperti yang saya baca disejumlah media adalah kemungkinan rilis dari PlayStation 4 pada bulan Februari 2013 (bulan depan), atau setidaknya Quarter 1 tahun 2013 (menurut Softpedia).
Rumor ini dimulai dari sebuah posting di Slashgear dan berkembang pemberitaannya ke sejumlah media pemerhati.
Sony has already sent invitations to the media for an event dubbed “Destination PlayStation,” which is set to take place in Scottsdale, Arizona, between February 25-28.
Attendees to this event will be offered a sneak peak to what the company plans to bring on the gaming market in the following months, but they will also be “treated to food, drink, play, and a first look at all the amazing new releases coming from Sony Computer Entertainment America Entertainment in 2013.”
Even though Sony has yet to officially confirm the announcement of the PlayStation 4 console at this event, it would make sense for the Japanese giant to introduce the next-gen console this year if it wants to release it in 2014.
Previous reports pointed to a PlayStation 4 announcement just before E3 2013 in June, and the new scheduling fits pretty well, unless Sony announces another special event in March-May.
As for the hardware specs of the next-gen Sony console, nothing has been confirmed yet, so we can only speculate on the latest hearsay.
