Scott Allen (Red Sand Marketing) is announcing that RS Head Cleaner with version number 1.3.8 is already available to download.

What is RS Head Cleaner ?

RS Head Cleaner is A plugin that will clean a series of well-known issues regarding WordPress loading patterns, helping improve your site’s overall performance and speed .

RS Head Cleaner has no settings page in the WP backend like many similar plugins, and once installed you can move on to other things that need tweaking or editing on your site. The plugin also comes in two major iterations, the Plus and the Lite versions. The difference between these two is found in their feature set, RS Head Cleaner Plus being ideal for faster performance, while RS Head Cleaner Lite being tailored for responsive themes. Also, the Plus version moves the site’s JavaScript code to the footer, while the Lite version doesn’t do this.In its entirety, RS Head Cleaner performs the following operations:- removes WP version numbers from the code- removes WP generator data- removes version numbers from JS files- removes version numbers from CSS files- removes RSD links- removes Windows Live Writer Manifest links- removes WordPress shortlinks- removes adjacent posts links- fixes the “read more” lnks- combines, compresses and caches JS files- combines, compresses and caches CSS files- moves JS files to footer (only in Plus version)As you can tell just by reading the list above, most of these items are quite useless, expose the site to security risks, and can also clutter up page execution time with unnecessary work.Any webmaster’s dream, the RS Header Cleaner plugin can be quite helpful if you or your clients put a high value on SEO, performance, and page loading times.Installation:Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

This is changelog for RS Head Cleaner version 1.3.8 :

  • Added a function that will clear the JavaScript & CSS cache files each time the plugin is deactivated manually through the dashboard (but not on automatic or bulk plugin upgrades). If you would like to manually clear the cache, simply deactivate and reactivate the plugin. (If you’re using a page caching plugin, just be sure to also clear that plugin’s cache as well at the same time to prevent related issues.)
  • Fixed a minor bug in the uninstall function.
