Linux News Today: Linux Kernel 3.10.88 LTS Officially Released, Available for Download Now

Immediately after announcing the release of Linux kernel 4.1.7 LTS and Linux kernel 3.14.52 LTS, Greg Kroah-Hartman, a renowned kernel developer, published details about the release of the eighty-eighth maintenance version of the Linux 3.10 LTS kernel series.

Looking at the appended shortlog, we can notice that Linux kernel 3.10.88 LTS is here to add a new OLAND PCI ID to the Radeon video driver, fix the fc_fcp_cleanup_each_cmd() function in libfc, address a use after free issue on IPC_RMID, which occurred after a task used the same semaphore set exits in IPC, and repair a memory corruption in ahash_final_ctx for Crypto.

Additionally, the hack implemented in the mmap randomize layout of ARM64 architectures has been removed, btrees are now being deleted when releasing metadata snapshot in dm thin metadata, IPC memory barriers have been corrected, and it is now possible to properly access mci->csrows array elements in EDAC/ppc4xx.
