Guild Software announced this past weekend the release of a new maintenance version of their Vendetta Online 3D space combat massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for all supported operating systems.
According to the announcement, Vendetta Online 1.8.356 is here to fix critical issues reported by users since the previous maintenance version of the game, as well as to add various improvements and a couple of new features.
Among the changes, we can mention that the timeout of the automatic guild disband, an operation that starts when there are less than five council members, was upgraded from 48 hours to 7 days, various information leaks of the player’s online status were fixed, and the server status was improved.
Furthermore, emergency monitoring was also improved, along with the server’s flexibility to some specific types of potential cloud problems. A crash that occurred when attempting to create numerous hive skirmish missions at the same time was patched, and a bug in the Vendetta Online server related to tracking of reloaded swarm missile ammunition was patched.
“We did some critical work this week, and it appears that we have drastically improved the stability of specific server-side components. We’ve also strengthened our monitoring, and also updated and improved our ability to roll-back from a faulty release, should one occur (always a possibility),” reads the announcement.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, Vendetta Online 1.8.356 implements the ability for Guild Commanders to limit the display of their members’ current login status via the web interface of the project. Of course, there’s also a lot of infrastructural work done in this release, greatly improving the overall performance.
Shortly, Guild Software developers will release a new update for Vendetta Online that brings some interesting game improvements, most of them being part of the evolution of the game and the Vendetta Online 1.9 massive release.
