Vince Pooley of Chapeau Linux has had the great pleasure of announcing the release and immediate availability for download and testing of the Beta build of the future Chapeau 23 Linux operating system.
Based on the recently released Fedora 23 Linux, as well as on a package from the RPMFusion of pre-release testing software repositories, Chapeau 23 Beta is derived from the Workstation edition, which means that it not only inherits all of its awesome features and functionality but also includes packages from its own repo.
“Chapeau 23 is on its way, in the meantime enjoy Chapeau 23 Beta,” says Vince Pooley, lead developer of Chapeau Linux. “If you love having the latest software and don’t mind the odd issue that may crop up go ahead and check it out. If you find an undocumented issue it would be appreciated if you report it either in the support forum.”
Prominent features of Chapeau 23 Linux distribution include the latest GNOME 3.18 desktop environment, LibreOffice 5 office suite, VLC Media Player video player, Mozilla Firefox web browser with support for Adobe Flash Player, Dropbox integration, as well as out-of-the-box KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) virtualization.

Additionally, the final version will also bring out-of-the-box multimedia codecs and DVD playback support, direct access to the preconfigured RPMFusion software sources, the Wine and PlayOnLinux apps for running Windows apps and games, Steam for Linux, GNOME Boxes virtualization software, and an exclusive Hardware Helper Tool.
Those of you who are eager to test the Chapeau 23 Linux distribution at this stage of development, are invited to download the Chapeau 23 Beta Live ISO images for 64-bit (x86_64) computers right now from Softpedia, but please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
