Posted on November 12, 2015 by Syauqi Wiryahasana

On November 11, Collabora's Emil Velikov announced the immediate availability for download of the fifth maintenance release of the open source Mesa 11.0 3D graphics library software for GNU/Linux operating systems.

According to the release notes, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, Mesa 11.0.5 introduces various patches for the Intel i965 and Nouveau graphics drivers, addresses several issues with LLVM 3.7, adds improvements to the VA state-tracker, and implements new PCI IDs for RadeonSI and Intel i965.

Mesa 11.0.5 is now available. With this release we have some driver patches for i965 and nouveau, a couple of LLVM 3.7 related fixes and a some bugfixes in the VA state-tracker," says Emil Velikov, software release engineer for Collabora. "Additionally we have a few new GT4 PCI IDs for i965 and RadeonSI."

Highlights of Mesa 11.0.5

Among some of the cool stuff that landed in the Mesa 11.0.5 3D graphics library, we can mention the addition of a missing stddef.h include for size_t, the ability to no longer expose HEVC on deprecated UVD hardware, and a fix for is-renderable check in the intel_image_target_renderbuffer_storage function.

Register definitions have been added for Stoney, a crash that occurred when nv50_miptree_from_handle failed to initialize has been fixed, unsupported CPU features are now explicitly disabled for gallivm, which now translates all util_cpu_caps bits to LLVM attributes.

Moreover, Mesa 11.0.5 adds support for Stoney asics version 3, reports progress from the lower_vec_to_movs() function, reverts some changes in the from _mesa_base_tex_format() function, and supports generation of mipmaps for immutable textures that contain incomplete pyramids.

Last but not least, OpenGL entry points are now being exposed on the Windows build of the graphics library via a DEF file, f16c is now automatically disabled when AVX is not in use, and implements Stoney PCI IDs. Download Mesa 11.0.5 right now from Softpedia.
