Ubuntu developer and Canonical employee Daniel Holbach reminds the Ubuntu community that the next UOS (Ubuntu Online Summit) event starts first thing next week, on May 3-5, 2016.
The forthcoming Ubuntu Online Summit conference is for Ubuntu 16.10, which has been dubbed by Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth as “Yakkety Yak,” and whose development cycle already started with daily build ISOs seeded to testers last week. Ubuntu 16.10 will be launched later this year, on October 20, 2016.
The Ubuntu Online Summit will take place next week, starting May 3, and it will end two days later, on May 5, 2016. Those who will attend the event, which is broadcasted live via Canonical’s Ubuntu On Air website, should be able to ask Mark Shuttleworth various question about the future of Ubuntu Linux.
The Mark Shuttleworth Q&A starts at 18:00 UTC on May 3, so make sure that you are there to see what the Ubuntu and Canonical founder has to say about the new features coming to Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) this fall. Ubuntu Online Summit 2016 will also highlight work from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus).
Ubuntu Online Summit is Ubuntu’s biggest event of the year, where developers and users gather together to discuss the upcoming features of the next major version of the popular Linux distribution, Ubuntu 16.10 in this case. There, you’ll be able to attend various discussion and planning sessions, as well as workshops and presentations.
