The Kodi development team has just announced the release and immediate availability for download and testing of the third RC (Release Candidate) build of the upcoming Kodi 16.0 “Jarvis” media center.
Kodi 16.0 “Jarvis” Release Candidate 3 brings the final and highly anticipated release of the world’s most popular media center software closer to reality, fixing the remaining bugs and annoyances reported by users since the previous RC build.
“It’s time for the third Release Candidate for Kodi v16. With this release candidate we added a small number of fixes that users brought to our attention,” said Martijn Kaijser in today’s announcement.
According to the release notes, Kodi 16.0 RC3 addresses a possible issue with the DVD menu, finally repairs the selection of stacked multiple ISO images or a movie, adds a missing MOOD tag scanning for various audio files formats, including FLAC and OGG.
Furthermore, the CPU feature check has been fixed for versions of the Android mobile operating system running newer Linux kernels, and the navigation in the EPG grid should now work as expected when there are channels without EPG data.

The third Release Candidate of Kodi 16.0 also adds a French AZERTY keyboard, patches the “renderloop” crashes that occurred on Windows platforms, and implements a long-press feature to fix accidental repeated button presses.
Last but not least, the application will now make use of the stored local icons instead of downloading new ones for the add-on update notification, and it’s possible to select times in a list when it’s being updated.
You can download Kodi 16.0 “Jarvis” Release Candidate 3 for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now via Softpedia, but please keep in mind that it’s a pre-release version and some of the features might not work as expected.
