As part of today’s Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) Final Beta releases, Canonical has pushed the second Beta build of Ubuntu Kylin 15.10, an official flavor of the world’s most popular free operating system designed specifically for the Chinese Linux community.
According to the release notes, Ubuntu Kylin 15.10 Beta 2 (Wily Werewolf) is now powered by the same kernel packages used in Ubuntu 15.10 Final Beta, Linux kernel 4.2.1. The Ubuntu Kylin Software Center has been updated to version 1.3.6, a release that optimizes the list, the state of the progress bar, and the blurbs, adds a mouse hover effect, and introduces a progress bar for installation, unistallation, and upgrade of apps.
Ubuntu Kylin Theme 1.4.0 is included in this version with updated Plymouth boot splash screen text and Unity Greeter’s logo to Ubuntu 15.10, and there’s the ubuntukylin-default-settings 1.3.10 package, which introduces the Ubuntu Kylin 15.10 logo in the Details overview, and improves the name of the expanded files that is displayed for zip files.

Ubuntu Kylin 15.10 Beta 2 also updated the Youker Assistant to version 2.0.3, a release that adds numerous new features, such as the implementation of an upgrade function, Gio.Settings notify support for MATE and Unity settings, support for displaying the hardware manufacturer logo of many devices, smooth interface switching, adjustments to the interface’s layout, updated custom skin filter, and dash blur updates.
Moreover, the camera module has been rewritten to use OpenCV instead of PyGame, the skin center, animation, and About dialog have been rewritten, the info and settings modules, as well as the menu and skin center have been beautified, it is now possible to delete command history and debug logs, and several issues with scanning empty garbage have been repaired.
On the other hand, the Indicator China Weather got a brand new UI rewritten in CSS, an optimized forecast interface, working real-time humidity and temperature, as well as modified database.
