Evasi0n, Tool Jailbreak iOS 6.0 ke 6.1 di Linux

Jailbreaking iOS devices may not be as popular as it used to be, but it’s still nice to know you can do this from Linux.

The evasi0n source code isn’t available, but there are binaries available for Linux – according to the readme, all you need is Linux Kernel 2.6.24+ and GTK2 2.24.13+. However, that would mean evasi0n wouldn’t work in Ubuntu 12.04 which uses an older GTK2 version (2.24.10), but I’ve tried the application in Ubuntu 12.04 and I was able to run it so it seems it doesn’t strictly require GTK2 2.24.13+. Besides Ubuntu 12.04, the application should work with Ubuntu 12.10, Fedora 17 and 18, etc.

Because I don’t own any Apple products (so no device running iOS), unfortunately I couldn’t test the actual iOS jailbreaking process so you’re on your own here.

To use it under Linux, extract the downloaded the archive and double click the “evasi0n” script which should run the binary for your architecture, or directly double click the “evasi0n.x86” binary for 32bit or “evasi0n.x86_64” for 64bit, connect your iOS 6.0.x or 6.1 device to the computer with an USB cable, click “Jailbreak” and follow the instructions.

According to evasi0n.com, you should disable the iOS lock passcode before starting the jailbreak and avoid using any iOS or iTunes related tasks until evasi0n is complete. Before you start, you should also back up all your data!
