Mandriva 2011 is soon to be released, but the Release Candidate version (RC1) is now available. For you that not have an optical drive (DVD Drive) you can use your USB thumbdrive to install it. As you know, from this 2011 edition, Mandriva ISO is a hybrid ISO, so the users can installing it by using optical drive and USB drive. To make Mandriva 2011 Live USB, please download the ISO first at:

or find it at your country repository and find the RC ISO. Plug the USB thumbdrive and check the partition drive position by using fdisk command on console. Then write out the ISO to USB by this command (do it as root!): [code]dd if=/path/mandriva-iso-name.iso of=/dev/sdx[/code] Where sdx is a USB Flash Stick, works again from RC1 and 2011 RC1 from a USB Stick goes really very fast.
