The developers of the Debian-based Webconverger Linux distribution used for deployment in places like Internet cafes have announced the release of Webconverger 33.1, which is now available for download.

According to the brief release notes posted by the project's devs, Webconverger 33.1 is still based on the latest stable release of the Debian GNU/Linux 8 (Jessie) operating system and updates the Mozilla Firefox web browser to version 42.0.

Additionally, the Adobe Flash Player plugin for Mozilla Firefox 42.0 has been updated to the latest version available at the moment of writing this article, Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.548.

When compared with Webconverger 32, the new release of the kiosk operating system further disables the "Tracking Protection" functionality based on the Safe Browsing technology, and disables automatic connections to the geo.mozilla.org and self-repair.mozilla.org websites.

Among other interesting changes implemented in Webconverger 33.1, we can mention that the Shift+click-on-the-new-Tab-icon shortcut used for opening a new window has been disabled, various other small issues have been fixed, and some under-the-hood performance improvements and cleanups were applied.
