Today, March 30, 2016, Ubuntu Make developer Didier Roche has announced the general availability of Ubuntu Make 16.03 for all supported Ubuntu Linux operating systems.
For those not in the known, Ubuntu Make is an open-source command-line tool designed from the ground up to help developers and programmers install all sorts of third-party applications that aren’t available in the Ubuntu repos or don’t have a PPA.
According to Mr. Roche, Ubuntu Make 16.03 is here to add support for installing the Superpowers 2D/3D game maker software, as well as the Eclipse IDE for Java EE developers, IntelliJ IDEA EAP (Early Access Program), and the Kotlin compiler.
“I’m really delighted to announce a new Ubuntu Make release, scoring 16.03, bringing updates for a bunch of frameworks while introducing new support,” says Didier Roche. “I’m also really proud as this new release features three new awesome contributors.”
Additional tests have been added to Visual Studio Code
Besides all the goodies mentioned above, Ubuntu Make 16.03 adds some extra tests for the Microsoft Visual Studio Code IDE (Integrated Development Environment), improves the Portuguese translation, and fixes bugs for Android-NDK, Unity3D, Visual Studio Code, Clang, and Intellij-based IDEs.
Ubuntu Make 16.03 is now live in its PPA for the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating systems, which means that you can install it by running the commands below in the Terminal app, one by one, hitting the Enter key after each one.

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y ubuntu-make
On the other hand, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) users can install Ubuntu Make 16.03 from the main repositories. Lots of other small improvements and the usual polishing have landed in this release of Ubuntu Make, so you need to check out the changelog for all the tech-savvy details.
