As reported earlier, Canonical started seeding the major Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 software update to Ubuntu Phone users, as a phased upgrade during the next 24 hours.
Many of you reported that the update has arrived for your Ubuntu Phones, including the BQ Aquaris E4.5, BQ Aquaris E5 HD, and Meizu MX4 smartphones, but it looks like users of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 devices didn't receive the Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 software update.
A few moments ago, we have just been informed by Łukasz Zemczak of Canonical that the OTA-10 has been delayed for those devices due to a last-minute bug discovered in the mobile operating system. Therefore, OTA-10 will be released for Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 users tomorrow, April 7, 2016.
"Mako and flo users still need to wait a short while as we have found a last-minute issue that we would need to fix before going live with the update - we apologise for that," said Łukasz Zemczak, Canonical Foundations. "OTA-10 should be made available for those users pretty soon, most probably somewhere around tomorrow."
A PulseAudio issue has been discovered
The bug appeared to have been discovered in the PulseAudio sound server, causing the Camera and Messaging apps not to be able to access the microphone when in video mode. More details on the issue should be found in the Launchpad report, but the good news is that it will soon be fixed.
However, since there hasn't been 24 hours from the official release of the Ubuntu Touch OTA-10 software update, not all Ubuntu Phone users have received it, so tomorrow, April 7, everyone should have it installed on their devices, including Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 users. We shall have more news on the OTA-10 and OTA-11 soon.
Update: We have been informed by Marius Gripsgård of UBports that the OnePlus One Ubuntu Phones will also get the OTA-10 update today.
